Dispensing Practice & Technical Skills

This PEP Exam section covers the core mechanics of pharmacy practice—getting the right drug to the right patient safely. it includes the following:

Prescription Assessment: You must be able to assess prescriptions for validity, correctness, completeness, and appropriateness regarding the patient’s clinical condition.

Good Dispensing Practice: Applying the correct steps in the dispensing process.

Calculations & Compounding: You must perform correct pharmaceutical calculations and prepare extemporaneous medications.

Labeling & Education: Competence in appropriately labeling medications and providing adequate education (e.g., teaching inhaler techniques).

Unit Dose Dispensing: Providing unit dose dispensing services.

Error Management: Knowing the steps to take when a prescription error is detected.
